Syllabus:
Below is the required skills for each grade in order to take part in the grading. Knowing the techniques is not an automatic pass; students will have to show enthusiasm and maximum effort in the grading as well as the required techniques in order to pass. The techniques are compounding; students will need to remember everything that they have learnt in the grade(s) before plus the new techniques in order to grade. For some grades there is nothing new to learn, meaning previous techniques must be shown at a higher level in order to grade.
Active Start Syllabus:
White belt and purple tag:
Blocks: Low, middle, high
Kicks: push kick and chop kick
Strikes: low punch, middle punch, high punch
Stances: walking stance, long stance, horse riding stance
Orange tag, green tag and blue tag:
Blocks: low, middle, high (attempting with two hands)
Kicks: half turning kick (45), front kick
Strikes: low punch, middle punch, high punch
Stances: walking stance, long stance, horse riding stance
Red tag. Brown tag, brown belt, yellow tag:
Blocks: low, middle, high (correctly using two hands)
Kicks: full turning kick, 360 (spinning kick)
Stances: back stance
Juniors and Adults Syllabus:
White belt:
Blocks: low, middle, high
Kicks: front, half turning (45), chop, push
Strikes: low punch, middle punch, high punch
Stances: walking stance, long stance, ready stance (junbi)
Yellow tag (juniors only)
Blocks: low, middle, high (using two hands)
Kicks: front, half turning (45), chop, push (building on flexibility and technique)
Strikes: low punch, middle punch, high punch (using two hands)
Stances: walking stance, long stance, ready stance (building on transitions)
Yellow belt
Kicks: 360 (spinning kick)
Patterns: 1 (Il jang)
1-step sparring: 1 move
Green tag
Kicks: back kick, turning kick
Stances: guard stance
